Twist of Fate

This piece began life as a necklace, but when it came to me, a section of the chain was missing.

Simply reconnecting the remaining ends would technically have repaired it, but it would also have left the necklace with far too small a circumference to be comfortably worn. And with such an unusual, beautifully detailed chain, consigning it to the spare-parts stash seemed a terrible waste.

So instead of trying to make it into the necklace it used to be, I gave it a completely different purpose.

I took the remaining reclaimed chain and created this twisted bracelet design, fastening each end across to the opposite side. The crossing strands naturally fall together at the front, showing off that lovely scroll-like pattern.

No extra embellishment was needed — just a different way of looking at what was already there.

From an incomplete necklace to a distinctive bracelet, lovingly rescued and reimagined from a preloved piece.
