Midnight Mosaic

Sometimes the smallest forgotten pieces make the best combinations.

Midnight Mosaic brings together components rescued from several different sources. The glossy oblong bead and round crackle-effect bead once belonged to the same broken necklace, while the sleek black rectangular bead came from somewhere entirely different.

Even the silver-tone chain has had a previous life — it was originally the clasp-end section of a bracelet and was far too useful to be discarded when the rest of the piece was taken apart.

I brought these rescued elements together and attached them to a new silver-tone heart-shaped clasp, creating a compact little cluster of contrasting black textures with flashes of silver as the beads move.

Clip it onto a handbag, purse, backpack or keys for a touch of understated sparkle with a slightly darker edge.
