Midnight Crescent

I spotted the donor necklace for these earrings in a second-hand shop, looking rather tired and unlikely to find a new home in the condition it was in.

But while the necklace itself had seen better days, some of its individual components still had plenty of sparkle left to give — and they were far too lovely to be overlooked.

I rescued the faceted black oval beads and smoky crystal crescents and reimagined them as this striking pair of drop earrings. The contrast between the deep black beads and subtle smoky sparkle gives them an elegant, slightly dramatic feel.

The reclaimed components have been paired with brand-new black earring hooks.
