Featherlight

The donor necklace for these earrings had feathers in abundance — rather more than one necklace really needed!

Rather than allowing all those lovely individual components to remain lost in an overcrowded design, I separated them and began finding new ways for them to shine.

One pair of feathers was transformed into clip-on earrings and this second pair have been given a new life of their own, suspended from delicate lengths of black chain and finished with a small twisted oblong bead for just a touch of sparkle.

Despite their dramatic appearance, they're extremely lightweight, making them wonderfully easy to wear.

I've finished them with brand-new black earring hooks.
