Change of Heart

Because that is quite literally what happened to it. 😁

This began life as a preloved silver-tone necklace, but between each section of chain sat small black plastic beads. They weren’t exactly making the most of what was otherwise a lovely necklace. 😂

So, it was time for a change of heart.

I took the necklace apart at each of the original bead positions, removed the beads and rebuilt those sections with these beautiful silver-tone and deep red glass hearts, which I'd found loose in a second-hand shop — no necklace, no obvious purpose, just waiting for somebody to see their potential.

Now the rich red glass catches the light beautifully against the silver-tone metal, while their original positions along the chain give the finished necklace a lovely sense of movement and balance.

Two preloved finds from completely different places, neither quite fulfilling its potential on its own, brought together to create something far more special.
